 Wednesday 10 a.m. to noon ; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
 Thursday 1 p.m.  to 6 p.m.
 Friday10 a.m. to noon ; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
 Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A renowned library

Welcome to the Bibliothèque de la danse of  the ESBCM. Containing more than 20, 000 documents, the library constitutes one of the world's most important collections specialized in dance. It is a veritable treasure trove of :
  • books & rare editions
  • CD-ROMs
  • DVDs
  • engravings
  • musical scores
  • performance programs
  • periodicals
  • photographs
  • posters
  • thematic files
  • and videos.
All forms of dance are represented (classical, contemporary, traditional, social), each with its own history, practitioners, techniques and repertoire. The library also contains numerous documents on related arts and sciences such as theatre, music, painting, set design, architecture, anatomy, physiology and physical therapies.


Multiple services

The Bibliothèque de la danse offers multiple services including Internet access, on-site viewing of videos, compilation of auditions and job openings, press clippings from around the world of dance and bibliographical lists. Above all, the library places a personalized, high quality reference service at the disposition of its clientele thanks to a qualified and entirely devoted personel.


Who can use the library

The Bibliothèque de la danse is a private institution, but the ESBCM open its doors to the general public, to researchers and to dance professionals and students. The Bibliothèque de la danse is a unique and precious documentary resource that responds to a growing need for information coming from the entire community. There is no consultation fee, but one must be a member to borrow documents or to use certain services.
